You keep seeing pretty lettering or beautiful hand-drawn journals on social media.
You’re always busy.... but you never have a tangible record of what you’ve done (where does the time go?).
You know should carve out time for yourself but you have a hard time sitting still.
You’re feeling like you’re living your life connected to screens and are craving a creative, offline hobby.
You’ve bought planners before but they’re not quite what you need (...or in the case of 2020, they’ve just become completely useless!)
Let me guess...
But you’re not sure how to get started with calligraphy or starting a new journal because...
There’s almost too much information online and it’s hard to know what to do as a beginner. And it’s intimidating to start a whole new notebook without a plan! Especially if it won't look "perfect"...
And you feel like you’d learn better from a live instructor who can give you pointers and tips....
And you’re not connected to a community of other beginners or people who can help encourage you to not give up when you’re starting a new skill like this!
So what could be the most helpful to you?
If only you had a trusted friend who could walk you through the basics of calligraphy and customizing a blank journal so you didn’t have to worry if “you’re doing it right.”
That’s why I’ve created this workshop series - to give you what I wish I had when I first started lettering, and to kickstart your creative planning process!
When I first started practicing calligraphy, I spent hours researching but still ended up with the wrong materials and totally whiffed the basics. I started and gave up so. many. times!
I’ve also been a serial productivity and to-do list maker for YEARS.
I loved making lists and was constantly switching from app to app to paper and back, but for some reason I couldn't find a system that stuck.
I finally put these two things together and realized....
That part of my problem was that I’d been trying so hard to do everything digitally that I had no tangible evidence of my work, and...
That calligraphy was helping me reconnect with something that had given me so much satisfaction in my younger years.
I used to spend hours engrossed in decorating my notebooks and doodling and coloring and changing up the way I wrote!
Have you noticed that as adults, we have this tendency to lose touch with this part of ourselves for the sake of becoming more efficient?
But as we do more and more, we're not feeling any less stressed or more satisfied.
What I've personally become aware of is that my practice of learning calligraphy and combining it with a creative journaling system that I can adapt to my every day life has helped me feel so much more excited about planning and creating than I have in years.
Trust me, I know it seems counter-intuitive, but I’m now a firm believer that slowing down to do things can actually make you more productive. (Re)learning how to be creative on paper has helped me in countless other areas of my life.
So I hope you'll join me in my first ever workshop series that combines these two passions of mine -- in the hopes that it does the same for you!
I’d love to teach you the many skills and lessons I’ve learned since I started, to be your creativity cheerleader and coach, and have you be a part of a wonderfully supportive community that’s learning this skill together.
We’ll meet on three Sundays (December 27, January 3, and January 10 ) over Zoom from 1:00-2:30 p.m Eastern Standard Time.
I’m offering it at a special introductory price of $125 for all three 1.5 hour sessions.
There are only 10 spots for this series - don't miss out!
You'll also get:
A Facebook group with access to instructor, weekly prompts, and a cohort of like-minded people
A PDF workbook that that can guide you along the way
